Poems
Happiness and Peace of Mind
I have searched for you for so long.
Little did I know you were here the whole time.
Each time I am mindful I smile because I
Know you are here with me.
You guide me to serenity with each moment.
I am grateful.
Nirvana
The wind in my hair.
The suns rays on my skin.
Calmly breathing in and out.
This is Nirvana!
Present Moment
Enjoying the present moment,
I take a humble breath in,
And a relaxing sigh out.
This is what life is about.
Orchestra
My body is an Orchestra.
My lungs the composer,
My breath is the baton.
Who are the musicians?
Crossing Over
Lets get there together,
Crossing over to the other shore.
It is there for us always.
I help you and you help me.
This journey is so challenging,
But you encourage me.
I hope I encourage you.
Hold my hand as we break free together.
Game
If life is a game,
Not to be taken too seriously,
Many of us are loosing.
Dharma Ocean
Floating in the ocean of life,
Inbreath is the swell of a wave,
Outbreath is the recession.
A beating heart is the ripples across
A boundless waterscape.
This is peace.
Flower Garden
You are the gardener of your own mind.
Who else is going to pull the weeds?
Your good nature lies underneath them.
Beautiful, aromatic flowers
Have always been there.
I want you to see them for yourself.
Don't give up <3
Nothing
Breathing
Breathing
Into Nothing
My Cat Buddy
You bite my leg and
I yell "Ouch!"
This is a reminder
To be mindful
Ego
Whenever I look for it,
I don't find it.
Where is it?
I get this feeling It's here,
But no matter where I look in
The 10 directions,
It's gone.
No where to be found.
Harmony
How Marvelous!
That it all works on its own.
The heart beats, the lungs breathe,
The organs function.
All without me telling it to do so,
With no intervention.
The clouds rain, the wind blows,
The grass grows,
All in perfect harmony with each other.
There is nothing to do.
It is already done,
Already taken care of.
All I need to do is smile and enjoy life.
Smile
Leaves blowing in the wind.
A dog barks and brings
My awareness back to the present moment.
The warm sun rays on
My skin breathe life
Into a hungry body.
I smile at the Dharma.
This Is It
I breathe in warm air on a hot summer day.
Sweat drips down my forehead.
The sun on my face and the
Wind swaying my hair side to side.
This is it.
Little By Little
Little by little the understanding comes.
Like a leaf that's dripping water slowly
After a morning shower.
I drink each drop gratefully.
Each droplet is the nutriment of wisdom.
This body is thirsty but can only drink so much.
A dry mouth that only the rain water can quench.
Slowly, slowly, dripping
I yearn for more but refuse simultaneously.
I turn my head and a drop hits my cheek.
Wasting precious water, my mouth is still so dry.
For a while I forget I am thirsty,
Only to be reminded when on the verge of death.
I remember and open my mouth to take another drink.
Little by little the understanding comes.
Misses Duck
A hungry duck approaches expectantly.
With empty hands I can offer nothing more than my presence.
Is it enough?
When you quack I am aware that you quack.
When you ruffle your feathers I still am aware of this much.
A mindful smile connects me and you.
Misses duck forgive me, I have no food to offer to your children.
You follow me with the ducklings close by.
What you seek, you must learn to find on your own.
We are not so different.
Eternal Now
How peaceful,
How free,
To fully let go.
Allowing yourself to just be,
Without wanting.
There is only this moment.
Engrossed in the present,
The eternal Now,
I am finally at ease.
Life is an Incense Stick
Slowly, the incense burns and turns to ash.
Transforming from a yellow powdered stick
To a red ember, then into smoke,
Filling the entire room.
There is not a single place its
Formless form cannot touch.
It burns steadily, but for short time.
Then it is done.
Anxiety
Tension, tight, constricting tension.
Compulsive fidgeting,
Make it stop!
It's crawling in my skin,
Taking up every molecule of space.
Oozing stress and anxiety.
It's as hard as rocks.
Just let me breathe already.
Are hearts supposed to beat this fast?
Someone save me!
But I am the only one who can save me.
I am also the only one who can hurt me.
Today I am choosing to let go.
Anxiety does not last forever.
Such
I see so many aspects of myself in you:
The beauty, the ugly,
The joy, the suffering,
The calm, the anger,
Everything.
When I love you, I love myself,
And I have so much love to give.
